VISIT TO THE SANCTUARY AND RELICS WITH CELEBRATION

The Sanctuary of Lucia welcomes both individual and group pilgrims, i.e. parishes, catechesis groups, pilgrimages.
The Sanctuary provides information on how to reach the church, book the possibility of celebrating liturgies, moments of prayer and pastoral activities.
The opening hours of the Sanctuary are 9.30 – 13 and 14.00 – 17 from Monday to Saturday; it is not permitted to celebrate for particular groups on Sunday, reserved for the liturgy at 10:00.

Groups requesting the celebration of Mass must send a written request to the Sanctuary directly from the email of the parish or the celebrant (not an agency), with information on:
1. Nature of the group and number of participants.
2. Parish or community of origin with contact details (telephone, address and email)
3. Name of the celebrant and “Personal Celebrant”. The celebrant must bring his own alb and liturgical texts (if foreign).

Individual celebrating priests (without a group following) are invited to concelebrate in the scheduled masses.
Depending on the number of participants and the requested time, the celebration may take place in the church or in the weekday chapel. It is not permitted to celebrate on the altar of Santa Lucia.

Due to the restoration work in progress, the Sanctuary does not currently have toilets. We apologize for this.

Tips and reminders for the visit
The purpose of these notes is to help pilgrims and visitors appreciate the atmosphere of the Sanctuary. Visiting a church is a spiritual experience regardless of the motivations of those who enter. These places, created for worship, are included if they are considered according to their intended use, that is, maintaining silence and the atmosphere of prayer.

Cell phones and smartphones must be turned off.
No photos may be taken.
The visitor’s clothing must be appropriate to the sacredness and decorum required by the place.
It is forbidden to consume drinks or food inside the Sanctuary.
For security reasons it is forbidden to bring LUGGAGE (suitcases, backpacks, bulky bags) into the chapel of Santa Lucia.
